AUTOMAT showcases its industrial potential in the latest MOZART webinar
Real-world applications, intuitive interfaces and industry interest highlight the project’s latest advances.
From tuna processing to poultry packaging, the MOZART consortium has showcased how the AUTOMAT system could support the handling of delicate food products in industrial environments during a dedicated webinar held on 22 June.
The event offered stakeholders a closer look at the progress achieved by the project as it approaches its final months. Presentations focused on three application scenarios developed with industry partner Cabinplant: automated rotation of tuna during de-skinning operations, sorting of poultry products by weight, and arrangement of chicken portions for tray packaging.
The webinar also explored the tools designed to facilitate the technology’s adoption. Researchers from Brno University of Technology presented a suite of user interfaces ranging from augmented reality solutions for assessing integration in production lines to AI-supported interaction systems that allow operators to configure workflows.
Beyond the technological aspects, the discussion addressed one of the key challenges for future deployment: user trust. Researchers from the University of Southern Denmark shared insights into how perceptions, expectations and workplace dynamics influence the acceptance of robotic systems, underlining the importance of designing solutions that users can rely on appropriately and confidently.
The session concluded with a discussion involving participants from industry and technology sectors, including expressions of interest in potential future collaborations, confirming the relevance of MOZART’s research for next-generation food processing applications.
