MOZART seventh newsletter out now!
Making standardisation count – promoting MOZART’s recent outputs.
Over the past few weeks, MOZART’s ongoing commitment to standardisation has translated into concrete outputs the wider robotics and food-processing community can now put to use.
The project AUTOMAT has been formally captured in CEN Workshop Agreement 18409:2026, developed with project partner UNI – Ente Italiano di Normazione.
Reaching this point meant agreeing, together with CEN and UNI, on a common vocabulary, characteristics and test methods for surface-based robotic handling of soft, irregular products — the kind of groundwork that lets manufacturers and integrators outside the consortium build on MOZART’s results with confidence.
Alongside the CWA, MOZART has also published a policy brief that steps back from the technical detail to ask a broader question: what does it actually take for a Horizon Europe project to make its results stick?
Drawing on the consortium’s own experience of bringing a standardisation body in from the project’s early stages, the brief sets out why that choice mattered — for MOZART, and for any project weighing the same decision.
Taken together, the two outputs cover both ends of the same effort: one is a usable technical reference, the other explains the reasoning behind getting there.
Worth a look whether you work on robotics standards, are shaping your own Horizon Europe proposal, or are simply curious about how research findings turn into lasting impact.
