Inside EU poultry sector: watch AVEC’s short videos on the key challenges and opportunities

Three video pills explore innovation, regulation, and the future of the poultry sector through the lens of the MOZART Project.

The poultry sector is evolving rapidly in response to growing demand for transparency, sustainability, and efficiency. As part of the MOZART Project, AVEC – the Association of Poultry Processors and Poultry Trade in the EU – has summarised some of the most pressing topics shaping the future of poultry in Europe in three short video pills.

The videos feature Birthe Steenberg, AVEC’s Secretary General, offering concise insights based on the association’s long-standing experience at the intersection of policy, production, and innovation.

These videos highlight:
• How digitalisation and innovation can support sustainability goals across the poultry value chain;
• The role of AI and robotics in improving productivity and working conditions without replacing human expertise;
• The importance of a well-regulated, transparent supply chain in ensuring animal welfare and food safety across the EU.

The series reflects the broader objectives of the MOZART Project, which are to accelerate the development and adoption of soft robotics in poultry processing while keeping people, animals, and consumers at the centre.
