Making and doing transformations: MOZART at the upcoming EASST-4S 2024 conference

MOZART’s Affordance Canvas will be presented at the EASST-4S joint meeting in Amsterdam, 16-19 July 2024

Pat Treusch and Ginevra Sanvitale (Trinity College Dublin) will participate in the upcoming EASST-4S 2024 conference on behalf of the MOZART project.

This 11th quadrennial joint conference of EASST and 4S will be hosted by the Athena Institute at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU). It will explore the role of Science, Technology, and Society Studies (STS) in making and doing contributions to transformations in an era of grand societal challenges. STS is an interdisciplinary field focused on explicating and analysing science and technology as complex social constructs.

MOZART researchers will co-present a paper on “The Affordance Canvas: a feminist tool for integrating socio-cultural aspects in technoscientific research and innovation processes,” in the panel “Making and doing transformations in feminist science & technology studies.”

MOZART’s Affordance Canvas is a tool to foster interdisciplinary dialogue between social sciences and humanities (SSH) and robotic engineering, providing a feminist and critical understanding of usability and sustainability challenges associated with workplace automation in the food sector.
